When a slide is one image, clicking its heading or an illustration selects the whole page. To edit those parts separately, use 2pptx's Full-element editable PPT mode. It rebuilds the text as text boxes, separates icons and illustrations, and places them back on the slide in a PPTX file. You can then move, resize, delete, or replace the separated elements in PowerPoint.

You can type new wording into the text boxes. Icons and illustrations usually become images with transparent backgrounds, rather than native vector shapes. They can be adjusted separately, but how much can be split apart depends on image clarity, object boundaries, and overlaps.

A page with text, icons, and an illustration is a useful first check. If you only need to edit text, choose Standard or Premium clean based on how complex the background is.

What can you change once the elements are separate?

In the solar energy example, the heading, sun icon, and illustration start out as one image. Once they are separate, you can change the heading, make the illustration smaller and move it to the left, then put the sun at the lower right. The rest of the slide can stay in place while you move an element.

You can also copy an icon to another slide or delete an illustration and insert your own product image. Select the part you want to change first. If several items are still part of the same image, they will move together.

How to convert your image to editable PPT

Use a clear source image or PDF. If you already have a PDF, upload it directly. Repeated screenshots can lose detail in the text and picture edges.
Select Full-element editable PPT in 2pptx and upload the file. Check the pages, price, and service details before submitting.
When the conversion is finished, download the PPTX and open it in your presentation software. Save a working copy so you can compare your edits with the original result.
Click into a heading and try changing its text. Then select an icon and an illustration to check that each can be adjusted separately.
Move, resize, or replace the elements you need to change. Adjust the spacing between text and pictures, then check the background, fonts, and which objects sit in front of others.

If you only need to change the text, Standard or Premium clean is usually enough. These modes produce a background image with editable text boxes. Will the fonts and design match the original exactly?

Conversion gives you text and elements you can edit, but it cannot guarantee an exact match for every font, size, weight, or position. An image records how the slide looks without preserving its font files, text box settings, or complete object relationships. Fine lines, shadows, detailed textures, and overlapping areas may also look different.

If text is too wide or breaks onto the wrong line, check the font and bold setting first. Then adjust the font size, text box width, and line spacing. In PowerPoint for Windows, you can use Home → Replace → Replace Fonts to change a font throughout the deck. Check headings and longer paragraphs after making the change.

Icons and illustrations usually remain transparent images that you can position or replace. To edit individual path nodes, strokes, or fill colors, you need the original vector artwork. Changing a chart label will not make its bars update to match the new number. Original chart data and animations are not restored automatically.

Frequently asked questions

Can I separate PowerPoint elements from just a PNG or JPG?

Yes. Use Full-element editable PPT. Clear text and well-defined edges around icons and illustrations are easier to separate. Blurred, overlapping, or connected content may stay together and need further work. Try a page to see whether the parts you need to edit can be selected on their own.

Can I insert an image and ungroup it in PowerPoint?

No. A PNG or JPG is a single image, so Ungroup cannot recover its text and icons. You need to recognize the text, separate the pictures, and rebuild the slide as a PPTX. Ungroup works when the slide already contains a group of separate objects.

Can I replace a logo, person, or product picture?

Yes, if it has been separated into its own object. Delete the old image, insert yours, and adjust its position, size, and order on the slide. If it is still part of an image containing other content, that area needs more work. Some pages can be split into smaller pieces than others.

Does this work with AI-generated slides?

Yes. You can use slide images made with Google's Nano Banana or OpenAI's GPT Image 2 or GPT Image 2.5. Save them as PNG/JPG files or put them into a PDF, then upload the file to 2pptx and select Full-element editable PPT. In the converted file, you can edit the recognized text and move, resize, or replace the separated icons and illustrations. The result depends on how clear the images are and how complex the page is.

Do I receive an asset pack or an assembled presentation?

You receive a PPTX with the text and separated pictures already placed on the slides. Open it to continue editing, and check for text recognition errors, unsuitable fonts, rough picture edges, or incorrect overlaps.
